Bill Dodd is a Chartered Accountant and runs the commercial and accounting departments of Christian Dodd. He has a passionate interest in the arts and creative people coming together with business to provide unique and exciting creative teams, businesses and opportunities.
He has a 30 year history of running successful accounting firms and mid-sized enterprises. His roles included: Managing Partner/ Finance Director/Chief Executive/Chairman and he set up and/or ran many SME enterprises. Bill’s desire to focus on the creative spirit and energy of artists has always been the driving force behind his many enterprises.
In Cumbria, he founded Dodd & Co, Chartered Accountants which became one of the largest accounting practices in Cumbria. His many personal clients included artists, creative enterprises and arts organizations from all over the North of England and he worked with Andy Christian to create and develop business training for artists and graduating students. He was also Chairman and CEO of Lilliput Lane Group for five years (the County's fastest expanding company in the 1980's) winning many awards including the Queens Award for Export.
From 1990 to 2006 he developed Collectible World Studios, based in Stoke on Trent, and worked with artists to both develop and introduce creative sculpture projects into specific marketplaces and opportunities around the world. This company was very successful, directly employing 100+ people and providing '00's of support jobs. Bill was also involved in Cow Parade which was the largest touring art exhibit in the world at the time.
He was co-founder of Manchester Chartered Accountants, Christian Douglass, in 2002 and remained a partner until 2007. Throughout this time he continued to work enthusiastically with artists and young entrepreneurs to develop and mentor business awareness and understanding.
Apart from his work with Christian Dodd LLP, Bill is currently Director with NB21c (Social Enterprise) Limited.
Bill ran his own jazz and blues club between 1995 and 2002 and featured great artists from UK, Europe and US. It was the only way to ensure good music and dancing on the weekend in Cumbria!
